The Eagle’s Flight is an event that was held last year in San Marco Square. Unlike the Angel’s flight, this one can not claim to have centuries of history and traditions. Nonetheless, it was greatly acclaimed by the population and the tourists during 2012: due to this, it is scheduled repeat even during this edition of the Carnival.

This year the event will be held on February 10th at midday. A surprise guest (probably an Olympic athlete) will lower himself from the San Marco bell-tower and will reach the stage in the square down below.

The main role in last year’s edition was played by Fabrizia D’Ottavio, winner of a silver medal during the Athens 2004 Olympics. The angel might represent beauty and grace, but the eagle symbolizes courage and force. To witness her exhibition, thousands of people nearby ran into the square!
